FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is an international robotics competition program (FIRST Robotics Competition – FRC) designed for high school students.
FIRST was founded in 1989. There are currently over 200 teams in Michigan, with four active teams in the Great Lakes Bay Region: Bullock Creek, Midland, the Saginaw Career Center, and Saginaw High.
The mission of FIRST is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.
